These holes will actually tend to close when the temperature rises throughout the day and opens up when nighttime falls.

You would think that desert life is so simple when you look at an individual desert cactus. When you look at a desert cactus it definitely doesn't look like it would have all these characteristics to help it to survive the desert life.
